The hospice team members collaborate together toward the goal of controlling pain and symptoms. This allows the patient and family to take advantage of many special talents as they cope with the complexities of living with a terminal illness.

Provide assistance in the office with computer skills (MS Word, Excel, MS Publisher), filing, copying, answering the phone, etc.
Assist Bereavement Coordinator in making telephone calls and/or visits to our hospice bereaved families. Help with monthly mailouts of bereavement material. Additional hospice volunteer training provided.
Preparing meals, baking cakes, pies etc. for occasional celebrations and for bereaved families as needed
Assist Staff in giving out information about our hospice to the community at various health and career fairs, trade shows, etc.
Companion patients, providing a listening ear and an open and compassionate heart. Your presence is powerful. Hospice Volunteer Training required and provided at no cost.
Assemble seasonal craft projects for patients at home or in our office. May work independently at home knitting/crocheting afghans, lap blankets, booties, etc.
Assist with patient-related shopping and delivery of supplies in the Tulsa Metropolitan Area
Crown Hospice is a strong, Christian-based Hospice. Praying for our patients and families is integral to their well being and to our success. You may pray at home.
Help with Volunteer Newspaper by writing, editing, graphics, interviewing, mailing, etc. Have ability to take photos with digital camera which can be e-mailed to our hospice.
Assist at various hospice functions by greeting people at the door, filling out nametags, serving coffee, set up and clean of food and beverages
We partner with several, local, educational institutions to provide internships in nursing, pastoral care and social work.
Take gentle, loving pet(s) to visit patients in private homes and various facilities. Pets do not have to be certified therapy pets.
Legal aide, accounting, estate planning, dental assistance, beautician services, massage therapy, etc. are always in demand.
Work with staff in gathering information about patient’s life to provide a permanent document to the family whether written, videotape, CD or DVD
Make presentations in churches, schools, and other organizations about our hospice.
Mow yards, clean flowerbeds, plant flowers, raking leaves, shoveling snow, etc. Many of our patients find that they can no longer do these things nor do they have the ability to pay someone to provide this service.
